Our Candy, Highfalutin'
Hard Candy Kisses, made her AKC show debut in grand
style at the Poodle
Club of Central California's Specialty Show. Just 6 months old by
a few days,and a whopping
34 pounds if wet, Candy impressed the Judge with her
style, grace and superb
structure. Candy won Best Puppy in Standards and went on
to win BEST
PUPPY IN SPECIALTY!
I am SOOO thrilled
by this wonderful acknowledgment of such a special puppy,
out of a long hoped
for breeding. She REALLY does bring out the best of her
Mom, Della, and her
Daddy, Digory.. See Candy's personal webpage for more

just 4 1/2 months of age.
On Saturday, Candy was entered and won RESERVE

On Sunday, Candy sat on the sidelines and
her Brown brother,
Reese, got his turn. Not to be outdone
by his sister, Reese
took BEST PUPPY IN SHOW!
They both handled themselves beautifully,
taking in all the
sights, smells and activity with ease and
confidence. I am so in
love with these two pups, they are just
a joy to watch.

this incredible success.

March 17
Two x-country skiers in
the back country of the Alpental ski area spent
an hour and a half searching
for the location of the dog they heard barking..
Gabe Newton and Matt
Glaser were searching in almost 5 feet of new snow when
they finally found
Zak, who was "hunkered down" in a small den he had apparently
dug for himself.
They did all the right things in not frightening Zak and causing
him to bolt, gained his
trust and began to lead him out to safety. As luck would
have it, Zak's mom, Rachael,
was snowshoeing in on the same route looking for Zak.
As they approached each
other, Rachael couldn't see Zak and asked them if they
had seen her dog
;-))) Of course, we all know what happened next!
Our heartfelt thanks to
Gabe and Matt, who responded to Zak's barks and
spent so much time ensuring
that they found him and brought him to safety.
Zak is very thin but otherwise
seems to have survived his ordeal very well.
Even that gorgeous hair
managed to come out of this unscathed.
We are so grateful for all
the love, prayers and support we have received over
these four agonizing days.
We know they helped to bring Zak home to us.

DAH is the # 2 Ranked Multi Color Standard
Poodle in the US
for 2008!! Let's hear it for our special
spotted girl !!
Not bad for a puppy who got started at just
6 months of age
in mid May of 2008. She
has amassed an impressive record
of 3 Best In Shows, 2 Reserve Best In Show,
11 Group 1sts,
4 Group 2nds, 7 Group 3rds and 5 Group
4ths. DAH has never
failed to place in the group. She
is the YOUNGEST DOG OF
ANY BREED to win a UKC BEST IN SHOW, achieved
at exactly
6 months old to the day, and the youngest
UKC Champion of record
at 6 months and 1 day old. She went
on to quickly attain her
UKC GRAND Champion title at barely eight
months of age. She has
been a joy in so many ways, as my companion
who snuggles so sweetly,
a friend who always listens intently,a puppy
who brings out the best
in me and starts my day with a smile, a
showdog who makes me so
very proud and who is a stunning ambassador
for the Multi
Colored Standard Poodle breed.
For now, as we head into 2009, there are
no big plans for DAH. She
can play with wild abandon in the rain and
the snow if it suits her fancy
that day, and get as dirty as she pleases
without having to endure yet
another bath,. She deserves every moment
to celebrate her puppyhood!
And sneaking in at # 7 Ranked in the country..the
widget..
Miss Small But Mighty, our
UKC GR CH Highfalutin' Hush-Hush, AKA Ivy
Shown very little, she managed to grab
her UKC Championship in
only 4 shows, and her UKC GRAND Championship
in the minimum
possible of 5 shows, with 3 Gun Dog
Group 1sts and 2 Group 2nds
and a RESERVE BEST IN SHOW! Not too
shabby..we are so proud
of this tiny bundle of attitude and beauty!!!
She is also now "retired"
and allowed to do it all with no regard
for cleanliness!
December 26-29, 2008
The final UKC shows of the year were held
in Oroville, CA over
a period of four days. The California Classic
hosted a turnout that was
filled with some of the top ranked dogs
in the country, including the
# 2 Rat Terrier, # 4 Labrador,
# 1 and the # 5 Pit Bulls,
# 1 Solid color Standard Poodle, the # 1
Perra De Presa Canario,
# 3 and # 7 Beagles, # 1 Rottie,
the # 4 Parson Terrier,
# 1 Catahoula, the # 1 Staffordshire Bull
Terrier... to name just a
few of the great dogs who competed in the
many events. There
were eight UKC Conformation shows, Weight
Pulls, Agri Lure and Lure
Coursing. It was the largest show
UKC has ever held in this area
and it was a huge success!
Among this impressive array of entrants was
our Miss Dah,
UKC GRCH Highfalutin' Hits The Spot, who
finished her UKC show
career with a string of 8 Best Of Breed
wins, 8 Gun Dog Group placements
and a BEST IN SHOW. What a great way
to end the year!
November 2008
Reno, AKC/UKC CH. Highfalutin' Hoodwinked
At Kaylens has added
an International Champion title to his accomplishments.
What a guy!!
He is now retired and will be finishing
his health testing. He will
be available AT STUD to approved bitches
after May 2009.
October 26, 2008
Reno, AKC Ch. Highfalutin' Hoodwinked At
Kaylens is now a
UKC CHAMPION! He wrapped it up with
Gun Dog Group 2 and
Gun Dog Group 3 placements in solid competition.
Not only am I only
plain old happy about his new title but
I am so PROUD of his owner,
Terri Cothrum of Whiterock Standard Poodles.
Terri is disabled and
is confined to a wheelchair. She trained
Reno to work with her in her
chair and showed him to his Championship!
WAY TO GO TERRI AND RENO!!!
Our handsome Silver boy, UKC CH. Highfalutin'
Zacharia Rainier,
had a phenomenal start to his AKC show career,
winning Winners
Dog and Best of Winners for 3 Majors and
12 points!
Hold onto your hats!
Zak will soon have his own
page here on the website so watch for it!
Our petite girl, Emma, Highfalutin' Hot Topic
At Kayens, also had
a great weekend, taking Winners Bitch twice,
for a total of 8 points
and both needed Majors. She is a sweet.
lovely young lady who is just
getting started. What a great way
to begin!
(picture coming soon)
Dah, UKC Grand Ch. Highfalutin' Hits The

including a Gun Dog Group 2nd and Group
3rd placements!
Zak is co owned with Rachael Hemstad of Washington
state.
He is a full brother to our Brie,
AKC/UKC/INTL Ch. Highfalutin' Holiday On
Ice.
Proud momma is Bijou, UKC Ch. Hfalutin'
Half And Half CGC.
Zak will be heading out on his AKC Championship
quest
in a couple of weeks!
Sept. 1, 2008
Our handsome boy, Reno, arrived home in Texas
today to his "other" Mom, Terri, as
AKC CHAMPION Highfalutin' Hoodwinked
At Kaylens !!!
He was shown a bit as a puppy, winning
several points, and
then sat out doing the coat growing thing
until July. He finished his
Championship with 3 Majors and a string
of 6 out of 6 Winners
Dog wins! Reno is just 16 months old
and we are SO proud of this
wonderful boy! He was beautifully
handled by his Daddy's
owner, Kay Palade-Peiser.
It just doesn't get much better than this!
July 12, 2008
Introducing our first homebred UKC GRAND
CHAMPION!
BIS UKC GRAND CHAMPION Highfalutin' Hits
The Spot
DAH finished her UKC Grand Championship quest
in
five straight shows (the minimum possible)
winning Best of Breed
each time plus 2 Group 1sts, 2 Group 2nds
and a Group 3.
The next weekend out, in her first shows
as a Grand Champion,
Dah took a Reserve Best In Show.
A mere baby, she just turned eight months old
There oughta be a law!
Rancho Cordova UKC
Shows
June 28 and 29, 2008
"Riley" Highfalutin' Homage To Huffish,
easily strutted
his way to his UKC Championship in just
four shows! He won
Best Of Winners in three shows and a Best
Of Breed
(over 3 Champions) followed by a Gun Dog
Group 2!
Riley is co owned by myself and Mike and
Stanella Penfield.
Needless to say, we were all just
thrilled at
Riley's wonderful success!
Rancho Cordova UKC
Shows
May 17 and 18, 2008
Miss Mitzi, AKC CH. Highfalutin' Hocus-Pocus
At Kaylens,
adds another title to her name, finishing
her UKC Championship
in only 3 days of shows. Mitzi wrapped it
all up with a Best Of
Breed over 3 Champions and a Gun Dog Group
3!.
And not to be outdone, little Ivy, Highfalutin'
Hush-Hush,
started, and finished, her UKC Championship
in just 4 shows!
Ivy strutted her stuff with style and grace,
winning two Gun
Dogs Groups 1sts and two Gun Dog Group 2nds!
Congrats to our AKC/UKC Champion Mitzi
and our UKC Champion Ivy!
What a fabulous weekend
for the Highfalutin' Poodles!
Our little Dah (La-Dee-Dah aka Highfalutin'
Hits The Spot)
has lived up to every wild dream we had
for her...and then some!
May 10 and 11, 2008
In her first UKC shows as a competitive
entry, at exactly
6 months old to the day, Dah wow'd them.
Winning 1st place in
the first show's Gun Dog Group, beating
several UKC Champions
in the process....and that was only the
start of her day! In the
second show of the day, she repeated her
Gun Dog Group win and
went on to handily win BEST
IN SHOW! She has surpassed every
tiny wish and hope I have had for her, all
in her first day of shows!
On Day Two of this 4 show weekend, she placed
a respectable
Gun Dog Group 2 and a Gun Dog Group 3, neatly
wrapping
up her UKC CHAMPIONSHIP! All at the
ripe old age of
6 months and 1 day! Doesn't
get any better than that!
Since a dog cannot be entered in regular
classes and earn a
title prior to 6 months of age, we are pretty
sure she is the
youngest Multi Color Poodle to win a Championship
and,
most certainly, she is the youngest in UKC
history to
win Best In Show!
BIS UKC CHAMPION HIGHFALUTIN'
HITS THE SPOT
(resting like crazy after her very busy
weekend)

AKC/UKC Highfalutin' Hocus-Pocus At Kaylens!
At only 11 months old, with just 4 weekends
of shows,
Mitzi outdid herself. Under the superb
guidance of her daddy's
owner, the renowned Kay Palade-Peiser,
Mitzi achieved her AKC
Championship with THREE, back to back,
FIVE point Majors!
I am thrilled beyond words.
Watch for Mitzi's brother,
Highfalutin'
Hoodwinked At Kaylens, to
be making his mark!
He is AKC pointed and winning steadily.
Not to be outdone, their
sister, Highfalutin' Hot Topic At Kaylens will be
making her debut in the
show ring at the PCA National Specialty in the 9-12
month class. She's
a beauty and we are very excited about her.
Last, but certainly not
least, Highfalutin' Zachariah Rainer, a stunning Silver
boy, will be hitting the
ring this summer. He's been lazing around growing
his gorgeous coat for almost
two years now! Time to spring this boy
on the judges!
Our
young boy, Reno,
Highfalutin'
Hoodwinked At Kaylens,
made
his ring debut in Florida on March 15, 2008.
In his first weekend out,
he won his 9-12 Month Class and took Reserve
Winners Dog both days!
The following weekend, he took Winners Dog &
Best Of Winners for his
first 2 AKC points! He also won Best Puppy
and a Puppy Group 3! Not
a bad way to get started!
What a guy!
Soda
makes her UKC debut in grand style!
March
8 and 9, 2008.
Our beautiful young girl,
Soda, made her debut in the UKC ring this
weekend. She blew them
away in the Breed, taking Best Female, Best of
Winners and Best of Breed
in the first three shows, attaining her UKC
Championship in the minimum
number of shows possible! She then went on
to win Best of Breed again
in the fourth show. There were some very nice
Standards entered, including
a handsome Am/Can Champion but
Soda walked away with the
big wins.
Then to add to our delight
each show, she took three Group 2's, a
Group 1 and a Reserve Best
In Show! We could not have
been more proud of her!
Soda is now
